Ready to see my CIC card?

Well Saturday is here. I have to tell you it was so hard to come up with a design that would compare to the ones you guys have come up with! I am so glad that you decided to play! I am going to show you my card and then I will wait till this evening to announce the "winner" of the blog candy, but choosing one is just going to be so hard! So, I am going to pass the buck.....I am going to have my hubby choose it. He is an artist himself, and has a good eye, and since he doesn't know any of you, it makes him a better judge. (It's either that or throw your names in a hat and draw a winner-which may be an option in the future!) I will post the Blog Candy winner on my blog and also leave a comment on the blog owners blog letting them know they need to get me their address for the Candy.

So, anyway, here is my card, and I am pleased with it.

Cardstock: Mellow Moss, Whisper White, Really Rust

Stamp Set: Baroque Motifs

Ink: Mellow Moss, Really Rust, Night of Navy

Accessories: Pretties Kit, Night of Navy 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon, Classic Re-inkers:Night of Navy, Mellow Moss, Really Rust

I dyed the flowers by directly pressing each flower onto the respective ink pads, until the flower soaked up the ink and there was no more white. I wanted a good dark color on these flowers. Because I am impatient, I used my heat tool to dry them. I may try this card again, but using diluted ink and letting them soak...trying for a less intense color, just to see what it would look like.

To get the "texture" look on the Really Rust cardstock, I simply ran the classic ink pad over the cardstock in a single direction. It was an experiment and I really liked the resulting effect.

The swirls were stamped with Mellow Moss ink in the background and the word Cherish is in Night of Navy. I toyed with the option of embossing it with clear embossing powder over Night of Navy Craft ink, but, alas, the ADD got to me and I just wanted to be finished so I could share it, so it is just classic ink, but still pretty.

I hope you enjoy this card and I invite you to play along with us next month!
