After much consideration, I have decided to retire from being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I have thoroughly enjoyed the past 8 years of serving you in your rubber stamping and crafting needs. Many of you have become dear friends and my wish is we will remain friends throughout our lives.

I will no longer accept any orders after March 31. If you would like help in finding a great demonstrator to replace me, I know several really fabulous ladies, and can help you figure out which one will best fit your specific needs.

A Note To My Demonstrator Friends:
My hope is to maintain my demonstratorship via my personal purchases for as long as I can. My guess is, I will continue to be on active status at least until September and perhaps longer.

Along with my retirement, I am cleaning out much of my stamping studio. You definitely need to come take advantage of this final sale! There is so much that needs to be cleared out, from retired stamp sets includibg lots of stamps that are still brand new but no longer available, crafted items and cards, even demonstrator business supplies!

Convention Highlights

I am home from a wonderful time at Stampin' Up!'s wonderful convention! I look forward to it every year! It is so much fun to reunite with stampin sisters and wonderful friends while we all share what we love and celebrate our acheivements, and learn so much!

One of the things I am SOO super excited about was the information shared about the soon to be released My Digital Studio! You guys are going to LOVE it! It is our digital scrapbooking program that will make scrapbooking so much faster, easier, and have so many printing options. You will have the option to print pages from your home printer or our professional printer. This option is cool because then you can still add your own embellishments and 3D look to it. We call it Hybrid Scrapbooking! Or you have the option to have it printed in beautiful bound books! The books will come in linen, leather or customized prints for covers. You can complete a book from scratch with your own layouts or use my favorite feature I am temorarily calling "click and fill" where you select your template, select your photos and set the order, and then click a button and all the photos fall in to place! You can then add or change embelishments and colors! The finished books are just beautiful! You will also be able make cards and so much more using all of Stampin' Up!s exclusive colors, artwork and accessories! Be watching for an annoucement about a release date in a few weeks. Here is a picture of me and my wonderful SAM, Sam! She was a great support to me last year.

A group of us went to PF Changs for dinner on Thursday night before heading to the hotel to change and freshen up for the Awards Night Ceremony. These ladies include Candice, Mindy, Amyjean, Janice, Mandy, Ashley, Megan, and Sherri. Look at the cute bag Stampin' Up! gave us (sittin on the ledge).

Awards night is so exhilarating! This year the highlight for me was seeing my downline Heather Stevens, from Centerville UT, receive the prestigious awards of Demonstrator #7 out of the top 15 demonstrators just completing thier first full Stampin' Up! year. And later she was surprised to find out that she was also Demonstrator #49 out of the entire company! These two awards included a wonderful, special trip to St. George next month to be pampered in ways only Stampin' Up! can do, and also a combined cash award of $3000! Way to go Heather! I am so proud of you!

Once all the awards were given, we were treated to the Acapella talent of Tonic Sol Fa. They do a fabulous job!

Of course there is much more to share about convention, and I will be sharing some of the great swaps, and ideas throughout the coming weeks, so you'll want to be sure to come back often.

Wonderus Wood Sheets

I had my quarterly downline get together over the weekend. I love these events! This month our make and take project featured the NEW Wood Sheets from page158 in the Idea Book & Catalog. These wood sheets are fantastic! They are thin enough to use in a paper trimmer, but have a layer of REAL wood on them! They add a beautiful natural element to your projects.

The first card I made was a copy out of the catalog, with a few tweeks. This card uses the Upsy Daisy stamp set, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, and Rich Razzelberry card stock, Rasperry Tart Designer Series Paper, Crushed Curry and Rich Razzelberry Classic ink, Wood Sheets, Organza ribbon, Big Shot & Matchbox die, Scallop Edge punch.

The next card was a simple Christmas card. The tree was colored with Garden Green and Really Rust markers and stamped on the wood piece that was cut out using the Top Note die and the Big Shot. It also features Real Red Grosgrain ribbon and the Jumbo Grommets, Dazzling Diamonds, 2-way glue and Cheery Chat Rub Ons.
This adorable notebook was made with the Scallop Square Big Shot die, which we stained using Pumpkin Pie classic reinker and an Aquapainter. Then we stamped the images using Craft and Staz On ink. To bind them together we stacked it all together and used the crop a dile to punch the hole and tied it with some ribbon.

My favorite project though, was this little wooden treasure box. We made it using the Matchbox die and the Big Shot. TIP when making boxes with the wood sheets, place them on the die wood side up. The wood will crack a when you fold it, but it is less noticeable when it is scored on the underside. We kept the box in its raw color. and just added some Old Olive wide grosgrain and vanilla narrow grosgrain ribbon and tied them on with some linen thread, and added a stamped image from the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set. Now I just need something fun to put in it!

Quick Project

Just wanted to share a quick project I made today.
I picked up a bunch of little notebooks that were on clearance in a craft store a while back and sat down today to alter some for my group training this weekend. I used the Crackled glass techique for the flowers. I love the way it looks - clean and simple. Kinda fun.

Other supplies used were:
Cardstock: textured basic grey, whisper white, basic black, regal rose.
Ink: Stampin write markers - mellow moss, pretty in pink, regal rose. Black Staz on, Versamark
Accesories: glassy glaze EP, heat tool.

Matchbox Madness

One of my favorite dies for the Big Shot is the new Matchbox one in the Occasions Mini Catalog. This is such a fun one to use! I sat down to play with it a couple of weeks ago as I was preparing for a presentation I was asked to give at a large group training. I did not take this picture of my boxes, but I am glad one of my friends did so I can share them with you since I hadn't done it yet and accidentally left the training without them and haven't gotten them back yet. So a BIG thank you to the photographer!

The red one is holding some Tic Tacs. It is made with Riding Hood Red cardstock for the sleeve and confetti cream for the box. There is a window sheet behind the Designer Hardware Frame.

The Pink one is made with Candy Land DSP for the sleeve and holds two little bottles of nail polish!

The yellow one is made with Tea Party DSP for the box and a window sheet for the sleeve. I wrapped the nuggets in coordinating DSP. This box can actually hold 4 nuggets perfectly, I only had 3 left in the bag though. - Kids!

The Green one uses Good Morning Sunshine DSP and the Matchbox Messages stamp set from the Occasions Mini. It holds a set of 4 little Thank You Notes!

April's Club Class

For stampers club in April, we centered the projects around Mother's Day I will put the 12x12 pages we did up later, but for now, here is the card we made. It is hard to see in the picture, but I applied Dazzling Diamonds glitter in the petal creases with 2 Way glue. It gives it a subtle shimmer. I also carried the polka dot theme into the flower with the large green button and placed a white jumbo brad in the holes. Mom is stamped with the outline alphabet in Eggplant ink, then colored in with the Versa Marker, so you end up with 3 different shades of purple. Between that, the hint of sparkle and the texture from the white cardstock and the ribbon, I love it this card!

How it Works

At the time you sign up, you will fill out your Starter Kit form and other paperwork as usual, but must also write "Three Easy Payments option" at the top of each form. Aloha! Part 1

Wow! My hubby and I are home from a wonderful week in the islands of Hawaii! Here are some highlights from our trip. I really wanted to be able to post while we were in Hawaii, but, since we don't have a lap top, I had to wait to share our adventures until we came home.

Day 1, Sunday, March 22
The morning started off a little rough. Our itinerary was supposed to go from SLC to LA, then from LA to Kona, Hawaii. When we arrived at the SLC airport, we were surprised to find out that our flight from LA to Kona was cancelled and we had been rescheduled to fly out of LA the next day, that just couldn't happen! I commend the Delta employees, because they did everything they could to get us on a different itinerary that meant arriving a little later in Kona, but at least getting us there that day instead of a day late. So we flew from SLC to Maui, had a 4 hour layover then on to Kona arriving at our splendid hotel around 10:30 pm. Long day, but wow was it worth it. We were greeted at the Kona Airport with lots of friendly smiles and signs, and were presented with beautiful purple fresh flower leis.

We did miss the welcome reception at our hotel, the Hilton Waikola Village. (You can learn more about that by clicking on the Hawaii logo on the right hand column) but, our room was beautiful! We stayed in the Palace Tower. The rooms were VERY comfortable, although we didn't stay in the room much.

Day 2, Monday March 23
We started the day out with a fabulous breakfast buffet on one of the resort patios. It included french toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, croissants, yummy fresh fruit, pastries, and fresh juices. The tables all had white table cloths and real silver silverware. Following this wonderful breakfast, were greeted by Shelli Gardner in a brief Welcome General Session. We learned that there were over 400 demonstrators who had qualified to earn this trip. Each demonstrator could also bring along a first guest for free (My husband for me naturally). We also had the option of "buying on" other guests such as children. Although we didn't bring our children, many demonstrators did, all total Stampin'Up! had over 900 guests in attendance on this trip! During this morning welcome session, there were also some fabulous stamping demonstrations showcasing some fun products too.

After the Welcome Session, My husband and I met up with a demo friend of mine, Melanie and her husband Randy. We rented a car and took a fun tour of the island. Our first stop was for lunch at this fun little place. Paniolo means cowboy in Hawaiian.

Then we stopped in the next little town (I don't recall the name right now). It was a cute little town with lots of little shops. We got some ice cream and did some souvenir shopping. One shop had crystals in it. The shop keeper was very gracious and gave us all a short back rub with her special healing stones she makes. I took this picture mostly for the HUGE crystal to show my son, that is why my hubbys hat is a bit cut off.

Next stop was Waipio Lookout. The Waipio Valley below us is so beautiful to look at. There are cliffs all around the valley. There are people who live in the valley below, but there is now electricity. The views from where we were were spectacular.

Next stop was to see some BEAUTIFUL waterfalls. We had to walk a little bit to see these falls, but it was SO worth it! I have never seen anything like it in my life. The first one we saw was this smaller one, it is surrounded by this beautiful rain forest vegetation. The leaves on some of these plants were taller than me! I kept trying to picture in my head what it would have been like for the very first person who discovered this place, trying to get through the thick vegetation and then coming to the abrupt cliff and seeing this spectacular waterfall across the way.

We stopped in the city of Hilo for some dinner and some light grocery shopping. Then it on to Saddle Road which is a very steep road that would take us up Mouna Kea. This is where they keep all the BIG telescopes and observatories for the universities These telescopes are so powerful, you can actually see stars being born hundreds of light years away! The summit of Mouna Kea is almost 14,000 feet above sea level. If you were to measure this mountain from its base (which is how you measure a mountain) that starts at the bottom of the ocean, it would be taller than MT. Everest. Although it is possible to drive to the summit, we didn't. You need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get there and it is a very bumpy ride. We only went as far as the visitors center that sits at 9,200 feet. They had several telescopes out for star gazing. It was chilly up there. The wind was pretty nippy. Many people were bundled up in parkas and heavy hats and mittens, we were in our jackets. It kinda felt like it does here at home in the middle of winter. It was so fascinating to star gaze from there. One interesting thing to note, besides the shear number of visible stars, is the fact that because our altitude was so high, and the atmosphere was thinner, the stars didn't "twinkle". They were solid dots there in the sky. Now, being from a small town where you can see the stars so much easier because of the reduced city lights, and having a father who loves astronomy, I have grown up looking through telescopes. But, this experience was phenomenal. I have never seen so many stars in my life! I have seen the Milkey Way, but never like this. It was all white with stars. Stunning. My favorite part was when I looked through the telescope and it was pointing toward Saturn. I have seen Saturn before (due to my childhood), but I loved the expression on Melanie's face as she looked through the telescope and saw Saturn for the first time. The way Saturn is positioned right now, we were able to see the depth of its rings. It is truly an awesome experience to feel so close to those other planets. I am so glad we were able to share that experience with Melanie and Randy.

From the star gazing, we went down the mountain and traveled back to our hotel. We had put in a full day and were ready for some good sleep. But, look what we found on our bed when we arrived back....

A beautiful custom made bag for me, and a nice bag for my husband! Each has Hawaii Stampin' Up! 2009 printed on them. Kevan's is on the black pocket in front, and mine is on a metal tag attached to one of the handles. What a perfect way to end the day! I have to say I love pillow gifts!

Day 3, Tuesday, March 24
Our day today started with a 260 mile tour of the island. Our first stop was at a coffee place. Kona apparently grows the best coffee in the world. Since coffee doesn't interest us much, I spent the time at that stop trying to make travel arrangements for our snorkeling expedition the next day. Back on the bus and another stop we made was at the beautiful black sand beach of Punalou. This was a cool beach. You walked on the solid cooled lava. Check it out! You can see the ripples! Off to the side it was literally black sand, which makes sense because the whole island is created out of the lava. Basking in the sun on the beach was a sea turtle or two. They are protected here so you can't get too close, except for Sherri, she about walked on one because she didn't notice it there! It was incredibly windy at this beach, if you can't tell.

We were able to take a stroll through the Thurston Lava Tube. That was amazing. It was so big! Hard to imagine lava running through there.

We ate lunch at the Volcano House in Volcano National Park. The views were really neat. We didn't get to spend much time at lunch because we were headed to Jagger Museum and to view the smoking crater....no lava though so don't worry, we just had to be careful not to breathe the gasses since that could be hazardous to our health! Also, we learned a story about the Ohi'a tree. This tree only grows on the lava beds. It is a very strong tree, hard to kill. Some can even withstand the flowing lava. The story goes that Pele, the fire goddess who lives in the volcano, fell in love with a young warrior, Ohi'a. Ohi'a was in love with and planned to marry Lehua. Pele fell very jealous that Ohi'a wouldn't leave Lehua for her, so she turned him into a tree. A tree that would only grow on the lava beds- near her. Here is where the legend can differ. One story goes that Lehua went to the Kahunas and begged them to turn Ohi'a back, but they were unable to undo Pele's curse, but they were able to turn her into the flower. Another story says that Pele felt bad afterward because Lehua was so sad to be separated from her love that Pele turned her into the flower so she could be with him. At any rate, to this day, Hawaiians believe that if you pick the flower from the tree, it will rain. These are the tears of Lehua for being separated from her love, Ohi'a again. Here is a flower from this tree.

We finally returned to the hotel around 5:00. Just in time to stop by the Stampin' Up! hospitality desk for a spin on the wheel for free products, and to get ready to go to dinner. After we spin the wheel and get our freebies, we put our ticket into a drawing for an i pod. Every night SU! gave away 5 red I Pods engraved with the SU! Logo. I got my freebies (the picture shows all the freebies collected from the wheel during the whole trip) and entered the drawing and shortly after we got back to our room, I got a phone call, I won an I Pod!!! Yippee!! Oh, and I dropped by the Make and Take hall to pick up my supply packet. I didn't have time to stamp my projects while we were in Hawaii, but the supplies (ink pads, stamp set, and such) were packaged in this cute box. I took a picture of the contents, but forgot to remove the stamps. I can't show you the stamps because they are not yet released, cute set though, you'll just have to trust me.

We were invited to have dinner with Brent Steele. He is the Vice President of Creative Services at Stampin' Up!. It was a fabulous dinner. As a thank you for inviting us, I made a little smores kit for him. I used a Fusion Flowers tin to hold it all.

Our pillow gift that night was this adorable pouch made from tea leaves. I didn't want to open it, but curiosity just kills me, and it was filled with all sorts of yummy island snacks!

Day 4, March 25, Wednesday
Our day started early again. We headed out to Kona to catch our snorkeling tour. I was a little nervous about snorkeling. See, I have a few issues with water. #1 I don't like to get wet, #2 I DON'T put my face in water (duh, that is how you drown!) #3 I prefer beaches to oceans. There are no sharks or jelly fish or other things that eat you or poop in the water, on the beach, and I know where the bottom is on the beach. So needless to say Deborah had a bit of anxiety about snorkeling for the first time.

Our boat was named the Hula Kai. It was large enough to hold 42 passengers, but there were only 15 on our tour. We headed down the coast and on the way got to do some whale watching. We detoured out deeper and were able to watch a momma and baby Hawaiian Humpback pair. So beautiful to see that!

After our whale detour, we made it to our first snorkeling cove. We got a private lesson on what to do and some good tips. Kevan jumped right into the water and took to it quickly. Deborah on the other hand, well lets just say the anxiety finally showed its head. I had to sit on the ladder and practice putting my face in and practice breathing through that thing! I was so tense. My breathing was so short and shallow, and I never realized how much of a "nose breather" I am! I finally got control and started feeling more comfortable as we were in the water. It really was beautiful. I wish that film could capture exactly what the eye sees, but, alas, it doesn't.

So we started to head on to the next snorkel spot, saw lots of whale spouts a bit further out, so we the Captain head on out deep to check it out. Turns out we had found a whole pod of sperm whales. This was a real treat. Apparently it is very uncommon for these whales to be this close to the land. Our tour guide said he had been doing this for 15 years and had never seen one of these whales. He didn't know much about them, but had a book that gave us a little info. They are a predator whale which means the have teeth. They are also really cool because they can dive down 9,000 feet!! Can you even imagine the pressure at that depth?! Anyway, there were about 8 or so in the group. We got fairly close but my digi camera batteries died so the pics are with the underwater camera and not that great.

After that fun detour, we went back to the coast and docked the boat for our second snorkel dip. There were sea caves to explore here while the captain and crew cooked a fabulous hamburger lunch. The water near the caves was very cold, so I didn't venture in too far. The fish here were beautiful too, and I was much more comfortable in the water this time. I really enjoyed it!

After lunch, we headed back to the main docking area, but stopped along the way to see the Captain Cook Memorial. Cpt. Cook was the British explorer who "discovered" the Hawaiian islands. The memorial is built where he was killed. Again, there are multiple stories as to how he died. One is that he had accidentally broken a "Kapu" which is a rule. This story says that a chair broke and he accidentally touched the king, which was against the rules. The penalty for breaking a Kapu was immediate death. So the kings men chased him till he was knee deep in the ocean when he realized he couldn't swim and that was that. The other story I think has something to do with him being killed in a battle with the Hawaiians over his long boat being stolen or something.

While we were in the bay at the Cpt. Cook memorial we were treated to seeing a pod of dolphins that were "sleeping". Dolphins have to swim while they are sleeping. Their brain has two hemispheres and since they have to think about breathing, only half of their brain works at a time while the other half sleeps. Crazy huh?

That evening our group went out to dinner. There were 9 couples at this dinner. So much fun. We got back just in time to catch the last little bit of Stampin' Share where demos had some fun projects out on display. We visited with Shelli Gardner a little bit and went back to our rooms.

Our pillow gift that night was a hand made sarong. A sarong is used for a few things from a skirt, to a table cloth. I chose to use it as a skirt.

Day 4, Thursday, March 26

So this was our last full day on the Big Island. We chose to spend this day kinda kicking back. No really big plans. Just relaxing. We slept in that morning and after we ate a bit of breakfast, we decided to walk around the resort, since we really hadn't seen that much of it. We followed one of the pathways down to the private resort lagoon.

We stopped and watched the dolphins at the Dolphin Quest. They are so cute!

The little pathway takes you under the waterfall and as we came out the other side, we saw the sea turtles.

We decided to go back to our room and change into our swim suits and then rented some snorkel gear and snorkeled in the Lagoon. There were some neat fish, but the highlight was being near the waterfall because that is where the sea turtles hung out. They were kinda hard to see under the water unless you were right next to them.

We rode the trolley into Queens Market and grabbed some lunch and then came back and got ready for the Luau Stampin' Up! was throwing. Kevan wore his newly acquired Hawaiian shirt with turtles on it and I decided to wear my new sarong that I got the night before.

The food was fantastic! Kevan was excited to be able to try Poi it is made from tarot root. There were a few little booths around with demonstrations of Lei making, coconut husking and such.

We were treated to a 2 1/2 hour program full of island dancing everything from the Hawaiian Hula, to Samoan Fire dancing to Ashley, Candice, and Mindy's hubbys learning the hula!

When we got back to our room the parting pillow gift was on the bed. In a cute little box, was a beautiful hand made silver necklace stamped with "Aloha". Simply beautiful.

Our little group met afterward and played games for a while then we all decided it was time to get some rest. A few were leaving the next day for home, but Kevan and I along with the Barnard's, Robinson's, Williams, Anderson's, and the Bywater's would be going onto the island of Oahu, - Honolulu.

Honolulu ...... Aloha part 5

Day 5, Friday March 27
Well, today we left the beautiful Hilton Wiakoloa Resort and flew to Honolulu on the Island of Oahu. Honolulu definitely has a different feel from the Big Island. I guess that is what you get when you go from country living to the city. After getting our car, we took Candice and her hubby Mark to their hotel to drop off their stuff then we all went to our hotel to change and go to Waikiki beach so the guys could try their hand at surfing. Check out the sunset view from our balcony!
An old surfer dude, Sam, taught Kevan and Mark to surf on land and then they headed out to the water. Both of them got up on their first time! Candice and I sat on the beach and took video and pics and visited while the guys surfed.

After surfing, we headed back to our room to change. We watched the sunset from our balcony. Mindy and her hubby Brett came to meet up with Candice and Mark and they headed off to dinner. Kevan and I went to go meet a friend who lives there on Oahu, Karen and her husband Alex, for dinner. Karen is my sisters best friend so she is like a little sister to me. Kevan and Alex had much in common since Alex has just recently returned from a tour in Iraq, so Army stories were shared. After dinner we took a stroll down the sidewalk along the beach and watched several of the street performers there was Elmo, artists, drummers, break dancers, preachers, you name it. Every ten feet or so was some one new performing hoping for tips. It was starting to get late so we said our farewells and headed back to our room for the night. I was a little sad to walk in the room and not find a pillow gift. I really got used to that! Stampin' Up! sure did spoil us.

Day 6, Saturday March 28
Our day started early again. We headed off to our first stop for the day Punch Bowl National Cemetery. However, the map we had was not very helpful and unfortunately there aren't a lot of signs directing visitors, so we missed an exit and made an unplanned stop at Pali Lookout. It was windy there, but the view was fantastic! I am kinda glad we made a detour.

We finally made it to Punch Bowl. What an awesome experience. We parked the car and walked around the whole thing. We looked at graves, some had names and dates, others didn't and were simply marked "Unknown". All of the stones with names were engraved with a religious symbol, a cross for the majority of Christian faiths, a Star for Jewish, a wheel for Buddhist, and an angel Moroni for the Latter Day Saints.
The memorial building was beautiful. There are tall pillars that line the stairs to the top. All the names along with rank, unit, and home state are engraved in the stone. We counted 23 names that were colored in gold and marked with a star. We found out that these men (or their families if they were killed in action) were recipients of the Medal of Honor.

At the top, there are beautiful maps made from colored stones in a mosaic fashion depicting the events of WWII, based on each area. We only took pictures of a few.

We paid our respects in the little chapel area. It still brings a tear to my eye, as I reflect on standing there thinking of the list of names of those killed in Pearl Harbor. How great their sacrifice for our freedoms. There were very few visitors here. Maybe 12 including ourselves. It is off the beaten path therefore not a common place to visit for most tourists I imagine. But, with the military as big a part in our lives as it was, Punch Bowl was a very important stop for us to make. I am so glad we did and I would recommend you visit if you ever get the opportunity.

After leaving Punch Bowl, we headed back into the city to grab some lunch and catch a tour of Queen Liliuokalani's palace. We learned much about Hawaiian History. This palace was among the first to have indoor plumbing and electricity, even before the White House. Fabulous tour. It was very beautiful. We were not allowed to take pictures inside, I wish I could show you, but I understand why they want to keep things preserved.
From the palace, we took a drive up to the North Shore. We stopped in the little town of Haleiwa. Apparently this is a favored spot for surfing during the winter. The waves are much bigger on this side of the island. We ate dinner at Breakers, then grabbed a famous shave ice. These are different than the snow cones we are used to. First, they put some small beans at the bottom. These are a really sweet bean. Then a scoop of vanilla ice cream and top it off with the shaved ice. It was REALLY yummy.

We continued to drive around the northern part of the island. Stopping to take a picture of the temple and then it grew dark so we headed home again. Once back at the hotel, we packed our bags since the morning would come early and we had much to do before heading to the airport.

Day 7, Sunday March 29
Like I said, we got up early and met Mike, Sherri, Brandi and Jon in the hotel lobby about 7:00am. After the valet finally found our car, we all headed to Pearl Harbor to visit the USS Arizona Memorial. We were able to catch the 9:00 ferry to the memorial. Yet another amazing place. Half of the deaths that occurred in Pearl Harbor were a result of the USS Arizona being hit. Not only was this ship hit, but it was hit where they kept the ammunition, resulting in a massive explosion. The memorial is built over the ship that rests on the Harbor floor. The ship still leaks oil to this day, between 1-2 quarts a day. It comes out in little drops that float to the surface and then burst open. It is said that these are the tears of the ship. Can you see the black dot in the center picture?

We wandered through the visitors center. A few of the displays caught my attention. One was a picture of a sailor and a copy of his last letter home, it of course was short, saying hello to friends and family and simply requesting a picture of his mother. He signed off by saying, "You're beautiful Mom." Another letter I read was from a mother to her sister just days after the attack. She said "...we don't know where he is or if he is okay....it may take a few days till they know who was killed, injured, and safe......If I don't hear from Art soon, I I think I'll lose my mind....If you want to send him anything you better do it soon as we don't know where he is or where he'll be.....pray for him...". Unfortunately, he was on the USS Arizona.

I sat on the floor and wept. Letters like these just hit so close to home. I suppose it is something that not everyone can relate to, but those who have had loved ones serve in the military during times of war can. It is a scary thing to be sitting at home during a conflict, wondering if they are okay. Waiting for them to call or write so you know they are alive. I was so blessed my soldier was able to come home to me.

Next we all headed down the road to the Aloha stadium where every Sunday there is a HUGE swap meet. And I mean HUGE. Booths circle the entire stadium! This is the absolute best place to pick up souvenirs. Some of our purchases were: 8 tee shirts - 2 for each of our children and 2 for Kevan for $20 plus LOTS of other fun stuff for our kids!

The Barnard's and Robinson's headed to the airport to turn their car in early, but Kevan and I went back to the harbor and visited the USS Missouri and the Bowfin submarine. The USS Missouri is a sister ship to the USS Arizona It is where the world leaders met and ended WWII ( On the golden plaque). It was damaged in the attack, but was later repaired and even used in the first Gulf War. After that it was decommissioned. It is an amazing ship. The guns on that ship are MASSIVE! It was a really cool experience.

The Bowfin was also used in WWII. It was pretty amazing to tour that. The spaces are so small. We learned a lot from that tour also.

Well, by now it was almost 5:00 so we headed to the airport and caught up with the Barnard's and Robinson's. We grabbed some dinner there and then played cards till the rest of our group - the Anderson's, Bywater's, and William's made it. Our flight left at 8:30pm. It was a 6 hour flight home and we to to SLC at 6:30am Monday morning. As we were descending into the valley, the flight attendant looked out our window and commented on the snow. I said, "Is it too late to change our mind and go back?" Yicky snow!

Our trip was a really fabulous one. We did everything we had on our list. We were able to spend time with friends and were able to make new friendships too. After visiting sites like these that are so beautiful, all I can say is, "When are we coming back?"

Fun 3D Items

Last week I attended a business builders meeting with other members of our group. It was so much fun. We swapped cards, stamped 3 really fabulous projects, traded 3D items, had a yummy supper, and shared some fabulous business ideas about goal setting. It was a wonderful evening. One of my favorite parts was the 3D trade. I love 3 D items. It always amazes me what fun ideas can be thought up!

I helped out one of my downline members who also attended by making her item for her, as she was crunched for time. Here is what I came up with:

I know, I have slacked getting you some new things to look at. No excuses, I just hope you will forgive me.

Here is a recent project I did. Kasia showed hers on her blog and I liked the idea, so I made one for me! Yes, the DSP is retired, but I really liked it, so I used it. Inside, I used the big calendar stamp to stamp the months. I left room on the sides so I can make myself notes and stuff. I have to write everything down or I forget it.

I love this planner, and am so happy I have good friends who inspire me!

This next week I will be preparing for our FREE trip to Hawaii, courtesy of Stampin' Up!. A full week in paradise will be nice after all this snow!

Every year Stampin' Up! does a Sale-A-Bration. It is one of my favorite times of the year, because they give a free stamp set to qualifying hostesses, customers, and new demonstrators! Here is how it works:

Leadership Highlights - Orlando 2009

Wow! What a week! I absolutely LOVE going to Leadership. It is so much fun to reconnect with old friends, make new friends, share ideas and rub shoulders with some of the top demonstrators in Stampin' Up!. This leadership conference was the best yet, for me though.

We left in a snow storm on Wednesday around Noon. The freeway was a slick mess. They had to de-ice the plane before we left SLC. We stopped over in Dallas and the plane there had trouble so we sat for a bit while they worked out the kinks. We finally arrived in Orlando, FL at 11:30pm. We were an hour late, but what was great was Heather, my downline, flight was an hour early so we got there the same time which was fantastic!! After we gathered everyone together, Me, Sherri (my upline), Heather, and Candice (a sideline), we all grabbed a shuttle to our respective hotels. There were 3 other demonstrators on our shuttle. What a hoot! I tell ya, stampers are some of the most fun people!

Sherri and I were next to last being dropped off. Our poor shuttle driver was having a bad day. His GPS wasn't working and he had no idea how to get us to our hotels. He even blatantly - we were stopped at the red light for 3 lights, and then he decided to just go and ran a read light almost resulting in getting us hit! But we made it there and met up with our roomies- Ashley, Maxine, Kristine, Terry, and Janice. I also met Wendy who was staying on a different floor. We talked until about 3:00 AM!

I got up early I had to be at the convention center by 7:30 to work as a Make and Take Helper. Wendy's roommate Toni was also a make and take helper so we were able to share a taxi that morning. So, Wednesday was full of shopping at the Stampin' Up! Momento Mall, stamping and learning our make and take projects, and then working our assigned stations to help the incoming demonstrators do their make and takes. There were 2 different sessions. It was a long day, Toni and I didn't get finished till a bit past 8:00pm, but it was worth it! Then Toni and I met up with Ashley, Janice, Sherri, and Kristine and went out for some ice cream. Then, back to the hotel room to chat until oh, I'd say 2:00am!

Thursday was the first day of meetings. We started with a great opening session where Shelli announced that we will be offering Digital Scrapbooking later this year....OHHhh it will be awesome! All of our exclusive colors, embellishments, images! AND, you can even have the option to use the real embellishments in a hybrid fashion so you can keep the texture and layer look if you like! I can't wait till it is available! Stampin Up is famous for it's door prizes at the events, so of course the Digital scrapbooking was the first one given for the day and guess what....YAY! I won one and so did Ashley!!!!! We will get it as soon as it is available, so keep checking back!

So then it was off to lunch. Leadership is so fabulous, you don't get a box lunch like at convention or regionals, you get to sit in a dining hall with table cloths, and actual plates and silverware and a fabulous meal complete with a peach cheese cake slice for dessert! MMMMmmmm!

The training meetings were great. There is always something new to learn. Thursdays classes included things like Creating Balance and Optimism, which was one of my favorite classes.

That evening, Stampin' Up! spoiled it's upper title demonstrators with an exclusive evening at Universal Adventure Island - Marvel! They closed down that section of the park just for us! There was a wonderful gourmet buffet for dinner, superhero's wandering the streets, 4 rides for us (with of course NO LINES!) a DJ and dancing in the streets that were decked out with banners saying "Punch", "Crop", "Stamp" and such in comic book fashion! How fabulous is that!

We topped the night off with a free stamp set packaged in this adorable Spiderman Lunch box! I LOVE Stampin' Up!

Friday was filled with more business training meetings. Again, always something good to take home with you. Lunch this day was fabulous! Baked chicken, mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, warm rolls, and a delectable chocolate cake for dessert.

At the closing session we heard a wonderful Keynote Speaker, she talked about changing the tune in your head, and how having a good attitude is vital for success.
Of course Stampin' Up! likes to end things with a bang and they gave all the attendees 2 free packages of new Decor' Elements!

Our group split up for dinner. Sherri, Janice, Kristine, and Ashley went to a Sleuths Dinner Theater. Sounded fun, but $50 was a bit too steep for me. So I joined Wendy and Toni and we at at Wonder Works at the magic/comedy show. It was fun and made me miss my kids who I know would have enjoyed it. This building was really neat. It was built to look like it had been dropped out of the sky upside down. It even creaked and moaned when you walked inside.

Saturday was a SU! Regional training that we stayed for. I get one FREE Regional Training a year based on my title of Sr. Manager. It was chuck full of great demonstrations, new product sneak peaks and business tips. I loved this regional.

Afterwards, Sherri, Me, Wendy, Janice, Ashley, and Kristine all went to dinner at a really neat local place called Cafe TuTu. It was a FUN place to eat. Everyone orders a couple of appetizer dishes, and then shares. Super fun. The best part was the artists that were there working in the restaurant. There was a painter, a sculpter, then we were graced with the talents of a belly dancer, hula hoop dancer, and another dancer! What a fun environment- and the food was great too!

Sunday morning Sherri, Wendy and I all got to sleep in since our flight didn't leave till 5:30 pm. So we went to brunch at IHOP and then hung out at the hotel for our shuttle to come take us to the airport. Sherri and I got home a little after 1:00am. That was a LONG day.

Next year Leadership will be in Phoenix! I am so excited! I would love to have you come too!

Well, I am on my way to Leadership Training. I am so excited. Leadership offers training geared toward demonstrators who have built their businesses and hold a title of Sr. Supervisor or above. Leadership is a much anticipated event and I am so excited to be going with my uplines Sherri & Brandi, and for the first time a downline too, Heather, PLUS several sidelines.

Swapping is a standard practice at Stampin' Up! events and Leadership is no different. Swapping is where you (I) make XX number of and identical item-cards, 3D, Scrapbook pages, etc. Then you "Swap" with other demos. So you only make one design and come home with LOTS of ideas.

This year, I signed up for 3 group swaps. These are generally smaller groups that have a particular project in mind. I joined a No Layers Card Swap, a Mini Album Swap, and a 12 x 12 scrapbook double page spread swap

I am going to show you my swap for the Mini Album. I made an album that uses clear envelopes as page protectors. Here is the cover:

Each album also has to have at least 4 decorated pages in them. I was unsure of whether that meant 4 pages including front and back, or 4 page protectors. So I put in four "page protectors" and decorated each page front and back. Here they are:

I used a variety of supplies in this project, including: Chipboard, rub ons, ribbon, punches, cosmo glitter, heat embossing, Clear buttons, the extra space from the sticky cut letters to punch out stars, not to mention the stamping. Best Christmas Present EVER!!!

Yesterday, I got the best present ever! We were finally able to go finalize Brianna's adoption! She has been with us for almost 7 months, and we have been so looking forward to finally getting a court date and officially making her a member of our family. I was so nervous/excited yesterday morning. The butterflies in my tummy were going crazy, I couldn't eat breakfast. We were at the courthouse a little early so that we could visit with our lawyer for a bit. The courtroom opened at 11:00 am. We were the first case #. We had to answer a few questions, and Brianna had to answer a few, you know like, "do you want to be adopted by them? - Do you understand what is happening?" type questions. The Judge, looked over everything smiled and said he was signing the papers then. We were so happy. It all took about 7 minutes! We went to Artic Circle for Egg Nog Shakes to celebrate, then later in the evening we had some of neighbors and friends over to have ice cream sundays and rock out to Sing Star.

Guess Which One I Got

I love all the Decor Elements. I can see so many places I want to put them in my house. The problem is I want to paint or do something to the walls first in every room! Well I finally decided and bought my first DE for my home. I even have it applied to the wall.

The master bedroom and 2 other bedrooms are upstairs. There is a wall at the end of the little landing/hall what ever you want to call it, that can be seen from the bottom of the stairs. That is where I hang our family picture and the pictures of the kids.

Well, I got the idea in my head and started to work. I took down the old eucalyptus swag that used to hang over the pictures. I scrubbed the wall and filled in the old nail holes. Then I painted it a nice lighter tan with some left over paint from when we finished my sons room this summer. I really liked the single darker wall. I just got my Decor Elements yesterday and promptly figured out the "layout" for it and the pictures, then applied the DE and hung the pics. I LOVE the result!! and it was so easy to do! Literally took 5 minutes.

There are several people visiting my blog looking for the picture of my manger from my Christmas tradition I shared with Stampin' Up!. I am writing this update to let you know that I have posted pictures in the original thread HERE. I am so glad you are excited to see it! So, please check back.

A Sunday Afternoon Project

Sundays are always a pretty laid back day around our house. I especially like to stamp on Sundays. Usually I am preparing for an upcoming class or workshop, or putting together left over kits from previous classes or workshops. Yesterday, however, my children seemed to have much energy (perhaps from the freshly fallen snow outside) so we decided to make a project for them to give their friends.

I rummaged through the pantry and pulled out a few boxes of hot chocolate packets, the bag of marshmallows, some Hershey's kisses, and a box of peppermint sticks. Grabbed some of my Stampin' Up! Cello bags - love those!, and some Christmas bows. I printed out a cute little poem for snowman soup and cut some 4x6 cardstock toppers for the poem. Then I realized my workshop on Saturday didn't happen (I ended up in the marshes off the road on my way to the workshop-that's another story) so I pulled out my workshop bag and used the already pre cut DSP to teach the kids how to make those cute little pouches. I did the embossing for the Merry Christmas Faux Metal label.

They proceeded to each make 5 little snowman soup sets. They filled the small cello bag with 3 kisses and 12 marshmallows then taped it shut and stuffed it in the pouch and placed a peppermint stick in next to the bag. Then they put the pouch in a medium cello bag with the hot cocoa packet and stapled on a topper, added the poem and a Christmas bow. Then the hard part was choosing which friends to give them to.

This was a fun simple project that kept them busy for about an hour and half putting them together, and then another half hour while they ran around and gave them out. Give it a try!

Here is the picture of our finished project, I know it isn't the greatest, but that's what you get when scanning a 3D project. Maybe one day we'll get the USB fixed on the comp so I can upload pictures! In the meantime, please for give the quality.

Maybe tomorrow I will put up a tutorial on how to make the pouches.

Oh, and I have heard several different versions of the Snowman Soup poem, the one I used came from OrganizedChristmas.com.

A Chat with Shelli Gardner

Last night we, as demonstrators, had the opportunity to listen to a conference call with Shelli Gardner, co-founder and CEO of Stampin' Up!. She talked a bit about the company, mentioning how stable it is-even in these stressful economic times. Stampin' Up! is a debt free company and is going to be fine!

Let me rewind a bit, before the call, Stampin' Up! asked demonstrators who planned on listening in to the call, to submit one of their traditions. A few of the traditions would be selected to be read in the call. Well, growing up we had a unique tradition that I wanted to share-so I submitted my "story".

Well, at the end of the conference call, Shelli and the two other presenters shared a tradition of theirs. Shelli's was a fun story about Christmas Eve dinner centered around the neighbor goodies that were brought through out the month as gifts. Cori shared how they would drive around and look at all the lights then eat dinner at Burger King - every year! Pam shared how they make yummy Mexican dinner on Christmas Eve and a fabulous sounding German dinner the next morning.

Well, I was tickled when my tradition was chosen as the first one to be read (out of a stack of emails Shelli said was 1/4 inch thick!). I will share what I wrote in a moment. The other stories were kind of fun too. One gal wrote how she give her daughter a Christmas book every year from the time she was a baby and how her daughter was now being deployed to Afghanistan and how she hoped the Book would this year help her find some normalcy. Another shared how they stay in PJ's all day on New Year's Day. One talked about how when their children were young they started only receiving 3 gifts at Christmas-just like Jesus did. She talked about how it helps them stay on budget and now as older kids, they don't expect more than that.

Anyway, here is my tradition. I hope you enjoy it!

As many others, I grew up with several traditions, everything from making/decorating the special recipe Christmas Cookies, to Caroling, and the annual extended family Christmas party with Santa. But, the one tradition that meant the most to me, even while young, was our manger.

Mom made a manger, about 6 inches long and 4 inches or so high. It was nothing fancy, just made with a few twigs from the backyard and some hot glue. It sat on our piano, next to it was a box full of straw. Every time we,the children, were "caught" doing a good deed during the month of December, Mom would tell us to "Go put a straw in the manger". We were always so eager,as young children, try to get a straw and would often pick out the biggest, fattest pieces first in an effort to fill the manger faster! So, good deed by good deed the manger would fill straw by straw. On Christmas eve, along with placing out the stockings and cookies and milk, we would place the Manger in the middle of the living room floor in front of the tree. Then, as we went to bed, I always hoped there was enough straw in the cradle to make a nice bed for Jesus to be "born". On Christmas morning, as we eagerly ran into the room to see the gifts from Santa, the first thing we had to do was check the Manger. Then we as a family would sit in a circle around the manger holding a sweet Baby Jesus wrapped in swaddling clothes, and Dad would say a prayer of thanksgiving, and only after that could we dig into the presents.

I do, however, remember one year, when we were teenagers, that the straw was thin in the manger, and hence, Jesus wasn't born. We still had our prayer of thanksgiving, albeit around an empty manger, but it was a very solemn Christmas. There were lots of presents to open, but, that Christmas morning had a totally different feel from any of the others, a feeling I can still remember today. It really made an impact on me, it was then that I REALLY realized and understood that Christmas wasn't all about the presents that WE give, but it's about the greatest gift of all that was GIVEN TO US, and how empty my life would be without that wonderful gift.

I have always wanted to continue the tradition with my children, but had never gotten around to building the manger. This year, my mother passed down to me her manger and Baby Jesus. So now, my manger and jar of straw sit on my piano, next to my Count Down Till Christmas advent calendar, and my children ages 10, 9, 7 are loving the new tradition. And, as odd as it may sound, I sincerely hope that one year, when they are all old enough to understand, they get the opportunity to NOT have Jesus born.

As Promised....

Last time I told you how I was planning for my December workshops. Well, here is the card that I finally settled on for one of the make and takes. Remember, if you left the 6x6 Real Red cardstock unfolded, so it is a 6x6 square not a 3x6 card, it would be a brag book scrap book page. I used the Season of Joy stamp set Real Red and Old Olive Classic Inks, Real Red-Old Olive Brushed Gold and Very Vanilla Cardstock for the poinsettia along with a gold brad. The background strip is Very Vanilla Textured cardstock and the green stripes came from the Halloween Designer Series Paper set (I just lost the name and don't have a catalog with me).

Then we made this little pouch. Since it was a smaller group for this workshop, I had them do the Faux Metal technique with the Curly Punch bundle. They also stamped an Avery address label and wrapped it around a Hershey Nugget.

The last make and take is a little love note. 3x3 card, uses short and sweet set, Night of Navy, Pacific Point and Baja Breeze inks. The circles on the Right side are punch out and the Pacific Point ink was applied to the edges using a dauber. The snow flakes are actually stamped on the inside. A touch of silver cord from the mini catalog is the finishing touch. Super fast card.

A Different Christmas Color Combo & Sneak Peak behind the sceens of being a Demo

Over the last week and a half of November, I spent some time preparing and planning for my December workshops. In preparing, there are always lots of different criteria (reasons) I choose the projects I do for demos and make and takes. For my first workshop in December, my hostess expressed an interest in scrapbooking, so for one of the make and takes, I wanted to design a 6x6 scrapbook page they could make, but for those who do not scrapbook, I wanted this page to be able to be converted into a 3x6 card. Sometimes that is easier said than done. I also had A LOT of textured Neutrals, so I thought I would try a combo using Basic Gray as the base color. This project also had to be Christmas Related-and my Christmas sets are limited this year. OH, and it has to be a fast project with only 5-7 steps. Wow, that's a lot of criteria! When planning a project like this (page that can also be a card) I find it easiest to start designing the card. So here is the first card I came up with.

I used Basic Grey Textured, Ruby Red, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Brushed Silver Metallic, and Whisper White Cardstocks. Ruby Red, Old Olive Markers, Versamark Pad (for the poinsettias), Silver Cord, Scallop Edge, Scallop Square, 3/4 inch square punches and the Season of Joy stamp set.

Here is the card opened and now a Christmas Page.

It is not what I finally settled on for my projects. I will post them tomorrow after my workshop. I didn't end up going grey, but it was fun to think outside the box a bit for a color combo. Oh, and please forgive the crooked strip. I didn't notice how crooked it was until it was posted.

Another Point of View

While putting together the left over packets from last night, I made an "Oops". I stamped my snow flakes on the top of the card instead of the bottom. "No biggie" I thought. I would just shift the green and tree down toward the bottom instead.

Is it too late to say I like it better for this particular design (the tree and the snow). Just goes to show how an Oops can turn out pretty good.

Directs & Power Team Stamp Night

I have started a new program for my downline, and I am really excited for it. It is for my Direct Recruits and for members of my levels 2-5 who are Supervisors or higher. Basically, this event will be held every quarter and if those who have the previously mentioned qualifications, have met a specific sales mark, they get to come to a free stamp night hosted by me. The projects we will make are fun, fresh projects.

Last night I held the first stamp night. I had so much fun! There were 7 ladies there - my upline Sherri, 4 directs, and 2 from the levels 2-5. This is the project we made. I fell in love with the one Ashley made here, and I think the original idea came from UStamp. She couldn't post the directions, so I set to figuring it out. Not as easy doing it by a picture, as having it in hand, and I don't know if mine was done the same way, but I am happy with the results either way. The bag holds a couple cards, eve lopes, and a beaded pen. We used the Season of Joy stamp set + two other Christmas verses. I love the Vanilla Hodgepodge frame.

This card actually came from parts left over from this card, (also created by Ashley). I thought it would make a nice Christmas card. It's colors are Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red and Whisper White.

The next card is a "Deborah Original". It uses Kiwi Kiss Cardstock, the Designer Series Paper is the Muirfield. The Chocolate circle was punched using the new 1 3/4" Circle Punch and then layered onto the metal edge circle tag, and then topped off with some Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon! Love that stuff! I think I will use Chocolate Craft ink and Clear embossing powder on the verse when I make up the extras. I think that will add some more texture to it.Beaded Pens are one of my most favorite projects. Simple, yet stunning-fits all my requirements! If you would like to learn how to make these pens, lets book a workshop and I will be glad to show you and your friends...you know you want one of these pens!

I am already planning the next meeting. And, I know the girls are also looking forward to it. I love it when we can get together as Stampin Sisters and enjoy each others company, build new friendships, and '...share what we love...' -Stamping. What a perfect evening.

Christmas Card Crunch is comming soon!

Christmas time is right around the corner. It is time to start preparing for it now. I will be holding my annual Christmas Card Crunch on the first Saturday in December. Attendees will make 12 beautiful Christmas Cards - 4 each of 3 different designs for only $12! These cards are designed to be easily duplicated, so you can fit them into the time line I suggested in this post.

Another fun option would be to do this as a private class with your friends at your house. Each guest would pay the $12 for one set of cards. You, as the hostess, would get $12 towards the party total (for hostess benefits) for each guest that attends. Contact me for available dates and more information.

Put A Personal "Stamp" on the Holidays!

Samantha Parisi is a fellow demonstrator somewhere in my sideline. We are connected through Amy Johnson. I am introducing you to her because she wrote the bulk of this post and graciously let me copy it and share it with you. I thought it was fantastic and will be very helpful to those wanting to add that personal touch to the holidays. You can check out her blog here. So without further ado, here is Samantha:

Holiday card making doesn’t have to be a huge production…with a little planning you can add your personal touch to the holidays and show all those around you just how much you care. Here is a basic time line to help make the process easier, whether you’re making 10 cards or 100 (keep in mind this could also apply to invitations for parties, weddings & showers!)

Things to Consider: • Crafter know thyself! This should be a stress reducing not a stress inducing activity! If making holiday cards is going to drive you to start popping bourbon balls, then just don’t do it! • Keep it simple! The more cards you make the easier they should be. Adding one extra step when you’re making 5 cards is no biggie…but when you’re making 50, it adds hours to the process! Try to keep each card to less then 7 steps. • Don’t fret that your cards are too simple…get the basic design done and leave a minor embellishment to add if time permits….try not to sweat the small stuff! • Work assembly-line style, do all the cutting, then all the punching, all the coloring, then all the gluing, etc. This not only speeds the process but breaks it into smaller, more manageable chunks. • Delegate! Even Santa has helpers…have the kids stamp envelopes and ask your husband to print out address labels…everyone can pitch in! • Don’t wait for huge chunks of free time to work on this project (it may never come along!) Simply gather all the supplies in one area or in one container (to avoid search & rescue missions) and be ready to go on a moments notice. You can accomplish quite a bit in the 15 minutes it takes for water to boil or while your on hold with the insurance company! Watching T.V. is another ideal time to sit and work on a portion of your cards….little by little you can get them done! • Finally, remember that every card doesn’t have to be identical. Just as each of your friends is unique, so should their card be….a unique reflection of your heartfelt feelings for them.

* 6-8 Weeks Prior to the Event: • Make a card list (or two! Some crafters make cards only for family members or close friends to cut down on the work load) • Decide on a basic design (including size, color, and sentiment….check back here for class dates and times.) • Compare your supplies on hand to your list of supplies needed • Make a list of supplies to purchase and contact your friendly Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator. Don’t forget extra adhesive…now is not the time to run out!

4-5 Weeks Prior: • Purchase supplies including envelopes, address labels and postage • Arrange supplies in one area or container so everything can be accessed quickly and easily as time permits • Start creating your cards, working assembly-line style • Address and stamp envelopes (you can save time here by using the computer)
2-3 Weeks Prior: • Finish creating cards (now is the time to add those additional embellishments to certain cards to personalize them) • Double check these against your original list as you slip your cards into the envelopes • Mail your cards Now sit back and relax with a steaming cup of cocoa and just enjoy the holiday season…you deserve it!

Color Inspiration Challenge #2

I LOVE this pillow, brought to you by Pier 1 Imports! I am not sure what it is that draws me to it. I love the colors, I like that it looks all satiny (is that even a word?) and I think it even has some bling in the points of the Burgundy.

Since this challenge falls on a weekend, you will have until Wednesday the 19th to take part of the challenge.

Simply make a card using the colors above, post it to your blog, or other website and then come here and leave me a link in the comments section. My Dabbleings in Stampin Yesterday

I have been working on the project for a Special Stampin' Night I am offering to my First Level Downline and my Supervisors and above in my levels 2-5. I am SUPER excited for this project and trying to get it just perfect. In my journey to this perfection, came these two cards.

I also have to mention that I am planning to be part of a swap at Leadership Training in January. This swap is for no layer cards. That is simply a card with no mat's or layers-a single piece of cardstock is used.

So, these two cards were created using those two starting points. I will add here that neither one of these cards made the cut for either the Stampin' Night or Leadership Swap. They just didn't materialize exactly like I wanted. But, I will share them since that is the stamping I got done yesterday!This is the first card. If you can tell, the blue hat is cut out and then put on a dimensional. There is also a bit of Dazzling Diamonds on it to help it sparkle! This one felt a little plain, so the in the next one, I traded for some of the green glitter from the Cosmo Glitter Stack, and did a reverse mask with some Kiwi Kiss and my Coluzzle. The scan didn't turn out well, the Kiwi is a bit more soft, not so harsh, and it fades more toward the hats.
